Terms of Service

These terms explain the conditions that apply when using our website and submitting a service request.

Effective date: August 2, 2026

Website and Service Terms

These Terms of Service apply to the United Home Services website, online booking requests, contact forms and general website communications.

They do not replace a project-specific written quotation, estimate, invoice or renovation agreement.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing the United Home Services website, submitting a form or requesting information through the website, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the website.

2. Website Information

The information on this website is provided for general information about United Home Services and the types of services we may offer.

Website content does not constitute a final quotation, professional assessment, construction contract, warranty or guarantee that a particular service is available.

3. Service Requests and Bookings

Submitting a booking form, contact form or preferred appointment date does not create a confirmed appointment or service contract.

A request is considered received only after it has been successfully submitted. United Home Services may contact you to confirm availability, obtain further information or arrange an assessment.

Appointments are confirmed only after United Home Services communicates its acceptance of the requested date and time.

4. Estimates and Quotations

Any preliminary price, range or estimate provided through the website, by phone or through an initial message is for general planning purposes unless clearly identified as a formal written quotation.

Final pricing may depend on an inspection, measurements, material selections, access conditions, project complexity and the actual condition of the property.

A written estimate or quotation may include its own expiry date, exclusions, assumptions, payment terms and project-specific conditions.

5. Written Project Agreements

Larger repairs, renovations and improvement projects may require a separate written agreement before work begins.

The written project agreement may include the scope of work, materials, pricing, payment schedule, approximate timing, customer responsibilities, change procedures and warranty information.

Where a written project agreement conflicts with these website terms, the project-specific written agreement will govern the service.

6. Changes to the Scope of Work

The customer should not assume that additional work is included unless it is written into the agreed scope.

Changes requested after work begins may affect the project price, materials and completion schedule.

Additional work should be approved before it is performed whenever reasonably possible.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about the property, requested work and known conditions that may affect the service.

  • Providing safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • Removing or protecting personal belongings where requested
  • Ensuring an authorized adult is available when required
  • Identifying known hazards, damage or building restrictions
  • Obtaining condominium, landlord or property-management approval when required
  • Making agreed payments according to the written estimate or contract
  • Providing timely decisions regarding materials, colours and project changes

8. Permits, Approvals and Regulated Work

Some projects may require permits, inspections, engineering, utility coordination or work by appropriately qualified trades.

Responsibility for obtaining permits or approvals will be stated in the written quotation or project agreement.

United Home Services may decline work that requires licensing, permits or specialized qualifications that are not available for the project.

9. Materials and Product Availability

Material colours, patterns and finishes may vary from samples, photographs or digital displays.

Products may become unavailable, delayed or discontinued. When this happens, a reasonably comparable alternative may be proposed for customer approval.

Customer-supplied materials remain the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Scheduling and Delays

Dates and completion times are estimates unless specifically guaranteed in writing.

Schedules may change because of weather, hidden property conditions, material delays, permit delays, customer changes, illness, emergencies or circumstances outside reasonable control.

United Home Services will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant scheduling changes.

11. Hidden or Unexpected Conditions

Existing walls, floors, plumbing, electrical systems, framing and exterior structures may contain damage or conditions that are not visible before work begins.

Examples include moisture, mould, rot, pests, unsafe wiring, damaged plumbing, structural concerns or unsuitable previous work.

Unexpected conditions may require additional assessment, a revised scope, extra cost or work by another qualified professional.

12. Payment

Payment amounts, deposits, progress payments and final-payment requirements will be stated in the applicable quotation, invoice or written project agreement.

Customers must review invoices and raise any questions promptly.

United Home Services may pause or postpone work when an agreed payment is overdue, subject to applicable law and the written project agreement.

13. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers should contact United Home Services as soon as possible when an appointment must be cancelled or rescheduled.

Project-specific cancellation terms, material charges, special-order costs or deposit conditions may be included in the written quotation or contract.

Nothing in these terms limits cancellation or refund rights that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Workmanship and Warranties

Any workmanship warranty will be described in the applicable written quotation, invoice or project agreement.

Manufacturer warranties for products or materials are provided by the manufacturer and may be subject to separate terms.

Warranties may not cover normal wear, misuse, neglect, customer-supplied products, pre-existing conditions, unauthorized changes or damage caused by others.

15. Photos and Project Images

Customers may voluntarily submit photos to help explain a service request. Photos submitted through the website should not contain unnecessary personal or sensitive information.

United Home Services will not use identifiable project photos for advertising or public portfolio purposes without appropriate permission.

16. Website Accounts and Security

The current website does not require a customer account.

You must not interfere with the operation or security of the website, attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious code or use the website for unlawful purposes.

17. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may use third-party form-processing, hosting, email, map or social-media services.

External websites and platforms operate under their own terms and privacy policies. United Home Services is not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

18. Website Availability

We may update, suspend or discontinue any part of the website without notice.

We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, error-free or free from technical interruptions.

19. Limitation of Website Liability

To the extent permitted by law, United Home Services is not responsible for losses resulting solely from reliance on general website information, temporary website unavailability or third-party websites.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

20. Intellectual Property

The United Home Services name, website design, written content, graphics and original project images are owned by or licensed to United Home Services unless otherwise stated.

Website content may not be copied, republished or used commercially without prior written permission.

21. Privacy

Personal information submitted through the website is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

Customers should review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information.

22. Governing Law

These website terms are governed by the laws applicable in Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.

Nothing in this section prevents a customer from exercising rights available under applicable consumer-protection legislation.

23. Changes to These Terms

United Home Services may update these Terms of Service when the website, services or business practices change.

The updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
